English language newspapers in RP China
China Daily publishes four English language papers that I know of:
*
_China Daily_ -- National propaganda drum; full of genuinely good and uplifting
news about China's development: economic, social, and environmental.
* _Beijing Weekend_ -- Beijing culture and entertainment weekly.
* _Shanghai Star_ -- Shanghai news weekly.
* _21st Century_ -- Weekly, aimed at high school and college students.
Get a subscription to this, share it with your students and encourage them to
take subscriptions too; excellent topical language involvement for them. Teachers
may find the language teaching supplements useful.
Only some news stands carry the China Daily publications. But subscriptions are not expensive. So I recommend subscribing to at least the _21st Century_ and possibly the _China Daily_. I do, and pass them on to my students after I have read them. Subscriptions are sold at your campus or local post office. A student or your FAO can help you subscribe.
